These days, you can get hold of nearly anything on the web--and this goes for new and used automobiles too. Looking into online auto auctions may just save you lots of money while getting you the car of your dreams at a price you really like. But you'll never know if you don't go online and look into it. Car shopping on the web is a great way to broaden your horizons for vehicle shopping. However, you should keep the following things in mind to ensure you aren't 'taken to the cleaners,' if you know what I mean!

You need to ensure that you can contact the person or company selling the car - BEFORE you give them a dime of your money for a car you don't have in your possession yet. Get any questions or concerns answered prior to spending your hard-earned money on a vehicle you don't even have yet. Things like the condition of the vehicle, repairs needed, etc. If you've tried to contact the seller by way of email or phone and you cannot get a speedy response - or a response at all - this is a sign that maybe you should move on to another seller.

When you contact your online seller, establish when you can take possession of the title and warranty for your new vehicle. At a live auction, the title is handed to you in person. But on the web, you have to get these official papers sent to you. Always get in writing via email the details of how you are going to get the title for your online car purchase. Do this before you get to the actual buying part of the arrangement.

Buying a warranty for the car you buy at online auto auctions is also extremely important. Because even if you make all the right choices in getting your vehicle online, the warranty will be good peace of mind. After all, you are buying a car 'sight unseen' (except for photos on the web), so a warranty is actually more important than normal.
